Please Avoid Slow Play: Play Ready Golf

4     If you’re the first one to the tee box and are ready, then go. Don’t wait because someone else has the “honors.”

4     If someone in your group is looking for their ball in the rough or in a hazard, hit your ball first—don’t wait until they find their ball and decide what to do.

4     If your ball looks like it may be close to going out of bounds or into the rough where it may be lost, please hit a provisional ball—there is no penalty for doing so and it will save a lot of time if your first ball does end up out of bounds or lost.

4     Finally, please encourage the other members of your group to be ready and to play ready golf.
